167 miles … Crossville, TN to Maggie Valley, NC (3 hours).12 noon to 6pm.
http://www.wheelsthroughtime.com

We are visiting Wheels Through Time.  Some may choose to stay in Maggie Valley after that.  Some may ride part of the way to Rockingham after the museum and others may just decide to ride all the way to Rockingham (227 miles, 4 ¼ hours).
Long Road riders check in with Captain Jack near the museum entrance any time from Noon to 4 pm.

Wheels Through Time is an awesome place to visit.  HORSE fans will truly enjoy this incredible opportunity.  Maggie Valley in and of itself in the Smokey Mountains is a great stop and the museum is so HORSE.  Talk to someone who has been there!

The museum is:  A consummate collection of over 250 rare antique American Motorcycles and Automobiles. Equally as astounding is the memorabilia collection that unites the "art of the motorcycle" with the generation of Americans that enjoyed a lifestyle peculiar to the "American Mainstream."

The thrust of the museum is to educate future generations to a fascinating spectrum of Americana, from the early years 1900 – 1928, motorcycles emerged from a motor powered bicycle to a form of reliable sport and transportation.

I can recommend:

Travelowes Motel
3194 Soco Rd.
Maggie Valley, N.C.
1-866-926-1732…. But there are a ton of hotels very close to Wheels Through Time.  Much of the staff will probably ride through to Rockingham.

As for the hotel/motel scene, Maggie Valley has over 2400 hotel rooms in a three-mile stretch.  Most of them are very modestly priced, and if you call in advance, group rates can be negotiated.  All are bike friendly.  At most of them, you can usually find a parking space right in front of your room.  Friendly atmospheres, and all are within a mile or two of the museum.  Dale's working with the town to make sure everything is squared away there.

The campground scene is a combination of RV/Camping sites, and just those for camping.  Stonebridge campground is Maggie Valley's biggest, and is very bike friendly.  Nice folks, and good atmosphere, and its only about 1/2 mile north of the museum.  They've got about 300 sites, but they do get busy in the summer, so making reservations might not be a bad idea.
